Vereniging Nederlandse Verpakkingskundigen viert 25-jarig bestaan:

Lustrumviering Verpakkingskundigen (VNV) vindt plaats tijdens vakbeurs FOODTECH 2013

Dit jaar viert de Vereniging van Nederlandse Verpakkingskundigen haar 25-jarig bestaan en dat gaat natuurlijk niet ongemerkt voorbij. Het toenemend belang van de verpakkingskunde in vrijwel elke tak van industrie is evident. De prominente positie in de voedingssector hangt samen met de toenemende integratie met product, techniek en markt. Het is dan ook geen toeval dat de lustrumviering tijdens de eerste beursdag van FOODTECH plaats zal vinden.

Het feestelijke progamma - op 15 mei 2013 in het Autotron Rosmalen - wordt gecombineerd met een bezoek aan de vakbeurs waar procestechniek, voedselveiligheid en verpakken de boventoon voeren. In de ochtend na de ontvangst kunnen de verpakkingskundigen hun licht opsteken over de nieuwste technieken waar zij binnen hun vakgebied mee te maken hebben. Aansluitend wordt het progamma vervolgd in één van de zalen van het Autotron. Wat dat middagprogamma inhoudt blijft nog even geheim, maar het belooft een leerzame, productieve en vooral inspirerende dag te worden met vakgenoten onder elkaar. De dag wordt afgesloten met een gezellige netwerkborrel die bij mooi weer plaats zal vinden op het prachtige terras van het Autotron.

Verpakkingskunde is een relatief jong specialisme. Met de opkomst van het supermarktkanaal in de jaren '60 wordt het verpakken op industriële schaal relevant. Met de verdere ontwikkeling van de kunststoffen neemt het vakgebied een grote vlucht. Aanvankelijk leert men het vak in de praktijk; in het laboratorium, aan afvullijnen en in distributiecentra en supermarkten. Tegenwoordig zijn verpakkingskundigen breed opgeleid om over disciplines en de keten heen ontwikkelingen aan te sturen: marketing, logistiek, inkoop, verkoop en productie spelen allemaal een rol bij innovatie, kostenbeheersing en duurzaamheid. De behoefte aan een beroepsvereniging stimuleert uitwisseling van kennis en kunde op dit nog relatief kleine vakgebied en stimuleert de noodzakelijke verdere professionisering in de markt. De VNV telt op dit moment meer dan 180 leden. Op de website van de VNV is alle informatie over de vereniging te vinden.

De branche reageert sterk op PUMPS & VALVES 2013                                                                                                                           

PUMPS & VALVES realiseert groei richting 2013

Op 2 en 3 oktober staat Ahoy Rotterdam in het teken van vaste en vloeibare stoffen. Hét netwerkmoment waar een divers, actueel en compleet overzicht neergezet wordt van alle technologieën en innovaties op het gebied van industriële pompen, afsluiters en proces componenten.

Leveranciers uit de sector reageren positief op het vervolg van de succesvolle editie in 2011 en er is een duidelijke groei merkbaar in het aantal deelnemende partijen. Het aantal deelnemers staat 10 maanden voor aanvang al op hetzelfde aantal waarmee de beurs in 2011 is geëindigd. PUMPS & VALVES vindt gelijktijdig plaats met SOLIDS, de enige gespecialiseerde bulk- en stortgoedvakbeurs in Nederland.

PUMPS & VALVES is een platform voor bedrijven die zich bezig houden met; industriële pompen, (regel)kleppen, dichtingen, filters & filtratie, processing apparatuur (o.a. mengers en roerders), leidingen & pijpleidingen en diensten voor industrie, overheid & pijpleidingbeheerders.

"Deelnemen aan PUMPS & VALVES 2011 was voor ons een beetje een gok.  De beurs was vrij component-gericht, en als bedrijf dat voornamelijk actief is in allerlei facetten van (industriële) waterbehandeling waren we een beetje een vreemde eend in de bijt. Dit heeft voor ons erg goed uitgepakt en we zijn dan ook met een stevige stapel leads naar huis gegaan. We waren erg te spreken over de kwaliteit van de bezoekers en hebben kunnen concluderen dat 'The Big 5' (Shell, Akzo Nobel, Unilever, DSM, Tata Steel) allen op de beurs vertegenwoordigd waren als bezoeker"

Reliable, accurate and commonly agreed measurement methods are a first requirement for the trade of goods. For the large scale LNG distribution chain there is a commonly agreed measurement practice as described in various ISO standards and in the GIIGNL "Custody transfer handbook". In comparison with other commodities like gasoline the total uncertainty on measured energy is high for LNG. The LNG industry is committed to improve the accuracy of instrumentation to reduce their financial risks and to optimize their mass and energy balances. The development of calibration standards and accurate models for LNG flow, composition and density measurement will contribute to this goal. The improvement of state-of-the-art measurement systems and the introduction of novel methods is very important too.

As an extension of the traditional distribution chain for LNG a new market is rapidly developing with LNG as transport fuel. In this case there is no commonly agreed measurement practice and the metrological framework is not yet in place. The roll-out of LNG as transport fuel requires the custody transfer measurements to be at par with traditional fuels.

This Conference will bring together engineers, researchers and manufacturers engaged in LNG measurements. Through a programme of presentations and posters the state of the art in LNG measurement techniques and applications will be presented. In particular the conference will be a showcase for the outcomes from the joint European Research Project "Metrology for LNG".

Presentations, poster presentation are invited on the following or
other aspects of LNG metrology and measurements:
• Flow metering – Applications and calibration.
• Ship based measurement systems
• Composition measurements, density calculations.
• CTS at LNG production facilities and receiving terminals
• CTS at ship bunkering stations and truck filling stations
• International standards and guidelines
• Future measurement systems for LNG

The first call for presentations is open until 22nd April and the preliminary program will be announced soon after that.

An admission fee of € 250 per delegate will be charged following your registration. This fee includes two lunches and the conference dinner.
